Crime Prevention Tips
Be part of the solution
Over a trillion dollars annually, that's the net cost of crime in the U.S. today. Losses incurred by victims and business,
combined with the expense of law enforcement, cost each of us about $5,000 per year. And this figure, of course, does not
include the emotional costs of fear and loss of security.
Federal and local police are our first defense against criminal activity. But we know from experience that swift and efficient
law enforcement is greatly enhanced through partnership with the public and strong community support. Crime Stoppers is a
seacoast non-profit organization, which have been in partnership with local law enforcement agencies for the past sixteen
years.
We cover the communities of Portsmouth, Newington, Rye, New Castle, Greenland, Kittery and Eliot and provide the support and
funding necessary for the Crime Prevention Tip Line. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of individuals perpetrating a crime and sponsor initiatives that prevent criminal activity before it begins.
Each month we'll be sending you a "Crime Stoppers Update" with useful information on how to prevent ID theft and burglary,
increase internet security, identify drug activity, and similar topics. We hope you find the information useful and pass it
on to your family, friends and co-workers.
Be part of the solution to crime in your community.
Support Crime Stoppers in any way you can - with tips, as a volunteer, with a donation of any amount. Whatever you can do will
make a difference for yourself and the community we live in.
